On Wednesday Nov 5th we received our new mission call. We did not open it at that time because we were having dinner with our kids on Friday night to celebrate the birthdays of Tammy and Jim.
Just as we were concluding dinner we gave Tammy her birthday presents. The last one I gave to her was the packet we received from the First Presidency. We let her open it! She neatly open the packet and pulled out the letter from the First Presidency and began reading. She STOPPED, put an exciting smile on her face and with her one and only expression "Holy _______ she read: "Elder Uzelac, you are hereby called to labor in the Philippines Cebu PEF Self Reliance Center as a PEF self-reliance missionary."
Everybody got so excited about this call and YES Jenee and I were not only surprised (thinking we would be going back to South Africa) but also excited about this opportunity to serve in the Philippines. We report to the MTC on February 16 to begin our service for 18 months.
